Meditation and Stress Relief - A Great Combo!

Meditation and Stress Relief truly are a great combination because Stress Relief Meditation has an amazing ability to disconnect your mind from stressful thoughts not just while you are meditating but gives lasting insight and relief from stress into your day. Meditation For Stress Relief when done as a daily ritual has even more benefits than just stress eduction but overall it will help you become healthier, reduce stress hormones that cause illness and make you less prone to mental disorders such as depression and anxiety.

To achieve a good meditative trance here are a few tips for beginners:

  • Stretch before meditating to loosen up and relax more and to make sure you will be comfortable
  • Sit in a relaxed and comfortable manner with your spine straight as you need to be in this way for a good 15-30 minutes and soreness will break your concentration
  • Breathe deep and slow to reduce your heart rate and relax.
  • Concentrate on your breathing as the repetition of such an action is a good way to “zone out” and achieve a good meditative state.
  • Focus on an object to draw your visual stimulus into a single thing to concentrate on … I use a lit candle but it can be just about anything.
  • Visualize a relaxing place but also try to imagine the other senses too of taste, touch, smell and hearing. This almost tricks the body into lowering stress!
