Eco friendly skin care is as a male is not something that I have really been into before, but i kind of stumbled across it almost by accident. You see I was staying around a friend of mine, and awoke the next morning feeling a little fragile as it had been a night of over indulgence. I managed to find my way to the shower, barely awake. I fumbled around for something that looked like shower gel, and found an unassuming bottle.
As I undid the bottle top, the most gorgeous smell hit me. Zingy lemongrass bursting out of the top of the bottle wanting to just slap me across the face and shout WAKE UP!!!! Then along came the calming overtones of fresh rosemary. As I put it on my skin it felt really good and it lathered up almost immediately. As I washed it off my skin felt shiny and smooth. I felt totally invigorated. I then went home feeling totally refreshed and ready to start the day.
After my amazing shower experience, I then decided to do some more research on what constitutes an eco friendly skin care product. One of the companies that pioneer this type of process is Pangea Organics. They adopt a holistic approach to the whole process, whereby everything is taken in to account. Starting from making sure that only organically sustainable natural products are used, as well as buying all stocks, where they can, from fair trade co-operatives. Thus making sure the farmer and the farm workers receive a fair wage. These are then handmade in small batches using only pure organic ingredients. Finally they are packaged in bio-degradable packaging.
I now kind of get the whole eco friendly skin care thing! I will never be the greatest eco warrior, but if the products are as good as the shower gel that I tried, and I’m helping the planet at the same time, then heh! It can’t be bad to be green
